04 - 1 large egg
05 - 1 small onion, finely chopped
06 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
07 - 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
08 - 1 tsp dried thyme
09 - 1 tsp salt
10 - 1/2 tsp black pepper
11 - 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

→ Glaze

12 - 1/3 cup ketchup
13 - 2 tbsp brown sugar
14 - 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
15 - 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

→ Green Beans

16 - 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
17 - 1 tbsp olive oil
18 - 1/2 tsp salt
19 - 1/4 tsp black pepper
20 - 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
21 - 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)

# Directions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.
02 - In a large bowl, gently mix ground turkey, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, parsley, thyme, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce until just combined.
03 - Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it on the prepared baking sheet or press into the loaf pan.
04 - In a small bowl, whisk ketchup, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar until smooth.
05 - Spread half of the glaze evenly over the meatloaf and bake for 40 minutes.
06 - Remove meatloaf from oven, spread remaining glaze on top, then return to bake an additional 10 to 15 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
07 - Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until bright green and tender. Drain and rinse immediately under cold water to halt cooking.
08 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic if using, sauté for 30 seconds. Add green beans, season with salt and pepper, sauté for 2 to 3 minutes until heated through. Optionally drizzle lemon juice before serving.
09 - Allow meatloaf to rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with sautéed green beans on the side.

# Cooking Tips:

01 -
  • It's lean protein that doesn't taste boring or dry, which is basically the dream for weeknight cooking.
  • The glaze is tangy-sweet enough that even skeptics of ground turkey actually ask for seconds.
  • The whole thing comes together in under an hour and makes your kitchen smell incredible.
02 -
  • Don't skip resting the meatloaf; those five minutes make the difference between slices that hold together and ones that crumble apart.
  • The glaze will deepen and caramelize in the oven, so it looks less bright than when you put it on; that's exactly what you want.
  • If your green beans are thicker than your pinky finger, give them an extra minute of cooking; size really does matter here.
03 -
  • If your turkey is very lean, add an extra tablespoon of milk to the mixture to bump up the moisture without changing the flavor.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check doneness; it removes all guesswork and ensures perfectly cooked turkey every single time.
