Roasted Broccoli with Garlic (Printable)

Tender broccoli florets roasted with garlic and Parmesan create a savory and satisfying side dish.

# What You'll Need:

→ Vegetables

01 - 1 lb fresh broccoli, cut into florets
02 - 3 cloves garlic, minced

→ Oils & Seasoning

03 - 3 tbsp olive oil
04 - 1/2 tsp salt
05 - 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

→ Cheese

06 - 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

→ Optional Garnish

07 - 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
08 - Lemon wedges, for serving

# Directions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
02 - In a large bowl, toss the broccoli florets with olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
03 - Spread the broccoli in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
04 - Roast for 18–20 minutes, turning once halfway through, until the edges are crisp and the stems are tender.
05 - Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Toss gently so the cheese melts slightly on the hot broccoli.
06 - Transfer to a serving platter. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges, if desired.

# Cooking Tips:

01 -
  • Those crispy charred edges taste like restaurant food but come together in under 30 minutes
  • Its the side dish that actually steals the show, even from the main course
02 -
  • Crowding the pan is the fastest way to steam instead of roast so use two baking sheets if needed
  • The residual heat from the broccoli melts the Parmesan perfectly so adding it straight from the oven is crucial
03 -
  • Cut the broccoli stems into thin coins along with the florets so nothing goes to waste and they become incredibly sweet when roasted
  • Let your sheet pan cool completely before cleanup or the stuckon cheese bits become nearly impossible to remove
