# What You'll Need:

→ Coffee & Milk

01 - 2 shots (2 fl oz) espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
02 - 1 cup (8 fl oz) whole milk or preferred milk alternative

→ Chocolate & Peppermint

03 - 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
04 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, adjust to taste
05 - 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
06 - 2 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips (optional)

→ Topping

07 - Whipped cream for topping
08 - Crushed peppermint candies or chocolate shavings (optional garnish)

# Directions:

01 - In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together milk, cocoa powder, sugar, and chocolate chips if using, heating until hot and chocolate is fully melted, about 2 to 3 minutes without boiling.
02 - Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in peppermint extract thoroughly.
03 - Brew 2 shots of espresso or prepare 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee and pour into two mugs.
04 - Divide the hot chocolate milk mixture evenly over the coffee in each mug and stir gently to combine.
